Dive Master
Dive Master® for Apple Watch® is a real-time scuba diving visualization tool for certified scuba divers incorporating commonly used recreational dive parameters into an intuitive graphical interface.
Developed exclusively for Apple Watch, Dive Master is optimized to present essential information to the diver during a dive. The app uses depth and time data derived from its internal calculations and user-selected options to dynamically display the diver's current depth, along with minimum and maximum depth guidelines.
Dive Master provides visual guidance to the diver by calculating and displaying the changing minimum depth guideline using the traditional Bühlmann model. In parallel, it calculates and displays the maximum depth guideline using estimated air consumption, remaining gas, and remaining bottom time, including any model-based ascent delays.
As the dive progresses, Dive Master presents visual indicators and alerts related to the depth guidelines in real time, allowing divers to understand how their position in the water column relates to the minimum and maximum depth guidelines. By showing the diver’s position relative to these guidelines, changes in both current depth and guidelines positions can be interpreted at a glance, rather than through complex numeric readouts that may distract the diver.
Dive Master also provides real-time safety stop depth and timing consistent with standard recreational diving practices, supports multiple dives, and provides graphical dive logs that allow divers to review their dive history directly on Apple Watch.
Safety and reliability are central to Dive Master’s design. The app incorporates reliable software practices, conservative operating assumptions, and includes mechanisms to confirm software update status before diving. Ongoing testing is performed in real-world recreational diving conditions across a variety of environments, including cold and warm water dives.
Dive Master is intended for recreational scuba diving by certified scuba divers. Dive Master does not replace diver training, planning, or judgment, and it does not control any life-support equipment. Divers are responsible for complying with local regulations and dive operator requirements, and for carrying any equipment required for their specific dive.
Dive Master is compatible with Apple Watch Ultra (all models).
